A Better Heywood for Young People
We are looking for young people (14-20 years old) to take part in a series of workshops which will help shape the future development of Heywood, and how young people can better be involved in it.

More about the project

Heywood has received government funding to improve the town centre. This will shape how the town will look for years to come, so it’s vital that the voices of young people are considered.
These workshops are the first part of this process. The aim is not just to find out how young people experience Heywood and what they would like to see, but also to design how you can be involved throughout the development.

The work is supported by HeyROC and Action Together.

What will the Young Researchers do?

Over three days, (August 5th, 6th and 7th) we will work together to map your experiences of Heywood and find out what works and what does not – as well as what needs to change. Alongside working with Social Place, In Her Place and local youth groups, you will also hear from the organisations which are leading the development, and find out how the process works.

The aim is to create a better understanding of how Heywood works for young people and what needs to change, but also to create a manifesto for how young people should be involved in the whole development as this goes on.

You will also get the chance to present these results to the council and other people involved in September.
Lunch and snacks are provided, and there will be a voucher for taking part at the end of the three days.
